As humans, we are dynamic creatures and it's so important that we move our bodies. Mindful movement is when you check in with your body as you're moving. It's like meditation meets exercise. Give it a try!
Art & Creativity
Art is my first love, specifically music. I played the tenor saxophone throughout grade school and taught myself to play the piano, guitar, and ukelele. I also love singing and art journaling. I like to sketch and paint and color. I also like to crochet and knit. There's something magical about entering into a state of flow, creating something out of nothing. Creativity begets breakthroughs and breakthroughs change lives. Get creative and immerse yourself in the arts for a next-level life experience.
Meaningful connection is one of the greatest pleasures of life. Love, family, and friends. Our relationships make us who we are. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Nurturing meaningful connections with others has the power to teach us, shape us, change us, and lift us up, if we open ourselves up to love in all its forms. Love is, after all, the greatest expression of humanity.
Although I've titled this section "Spirituality," this area of well-being is mostly about finding a sense of purpose and asking the big question, "What is the meaning of life?" For me and my beliefs, the term spirituality fits perfectly; however, you may prefer the term "religion" or "meaning" or "purpose". Whichever term resonates best with you, it is my hope that you're able to tap into something bigger than yourself, something larger than life. This can be God, The Universe, Mother Earth, a cause/mission/initiative/effort, or anything that gives you a sense of purpose and belonging.
Personal development (or self-help) is not only one of my favorite book genres to read, but it's also an extremely important aspect of our well-being. We seem to have this innate drive and desire to accomplish, achieve, and succeed. I think it's important to strive to be the best version of yourself. This aspect of well-being will require that you welcome balance. Be sure to enjoy your accomplishments, as comparison is the thief of joy. It really is you vs. you. Keep striving, keep thriving. (But also rest!)
