About Me
Hello there!
I’m Raven, a clinical psychology graduate student at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. My research centers Black/African Americans and their unique experiences with mental illness, treatment-seeking, and dysfunctional generational thought patterns such as the Strong-Black-Woman schema and internalized stigma. My clinical work has been in private practice, with Dr. Kathryn W. Soward, where I conduct psychotherapy, administer psychological assessments, write psychological reports, and beyond.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Arizona State University in 2019, and after completing my current master's degree – Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology – in 2024, I plan to obtain my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology.
During my time in graduate school, I have been an invited guest speaker, a panel member, and an author on various research projects. I have developed a mental health intervention for increasing psychological treatment-seeking in African Americans. I have also founded Black Mental Health Empowered, a mental health initiative focused on improving the psychological well-being of Black/African Americans and promoting mental health within the Black community. The initiative is committed to five foundational pillars: education, awareness, advocacy, service, and empowerment.
Come along with me on my journey as I empower minds and nurture hearts.
See you on socials!

P.s.
Check out my Curriculum Vitae (CV)! I'm pretty proud of it.
